For 7 days we are at the gorgeous Salt House in Hiriketiya, run by the fabulous Charlie.  A happy place and a safe space.

It’s situated at 20m (60ft) from the beach, has air-conditioned rooms, a pool, a bar / restaurant, a swimming pool and a yoga shala where you can attend daily yoga classes. Hiriketiya is as paradise as it gets.  The jungle just falls into this tiny bay with pearly white sandy beach.  On one side soft mellow waves to cater for the beginners and the bigger heavier wave lures the intermediate surfer at the other side. 

Far from the hustle and bustle of the main road this tiny little village offers a bunch of restaurants and beach lounge bars for that perfect holiday feeling when you come out of your surf lessons (by an instructor named Lucky BTW).  He is amazing. We had a blast there last year, and I’m sure this year will be no different.
